Ren calls the vet and is dismayed to learn he has to make an appointment. He's used to veterinarians who treat medical emergencies like emergencies. Maurice goes to work and comes back, goes to his gig and comes back. Cathy sits and waits for the cat to come out.

That reminds me of when we tried having daughter's cat here instead of using boarding kennels. Never again. But of course you know all about cat behaviour!!

Yup yup! Cats belong to their places, so when you remove them from their territory, who knows what they'll do! Usually get defensive in some way or other. I don't know if anyone noted that the cat is being prickly toward Cathy and Ren, who are doting on it, and jumps uninvited onto Maurice's lap while he's ignoring it. (He doesn't dislike cats; he's just not eager to get emotionally involved when it's not even their cat.)

Jemima spent a week under the spare bed. Food placed in the room was eaten so she must have come out when not watched... And yet she was used to us and normally perfectly friendly! As I said, never again!!
