Alien Romance, the daily comic strip
Feb. 26th, 2026 01:57 pmOh no, I'm so far behind! This is a dump of all the daily comics I've done since last time I posted. I'll summarize it in the image descriptions, but I don't have time to do a full transcript. I'll copy and paste the translation transcript I did on the comic that's in French.

French translation:
(As always, not guaranteed to be a direct translation, and errors and typos may occur.)
Cathy: "What are you saying?"
Maurice: "Owen is worried about embarrassing me because I'm a short man."
Cathy: "Oh!"
Maurice: "But I already know."
Cathy: "Yeah! It's nothing to be embarrassed about."
Maurice: "Eh, I suppose."
Cathy: "It's not a bad thing. I chose you."
Maurice: "Some people don't want to choose a man like me."
Cathy: "Fortunately! I'm not sharing."
...
"If you want the whole world to find you attractive, then, damn, what am I?"
Maurice: "Sorry! That was too much French for me."
And simultaneously:

Okay! Almost caught up. I always update the Alien Romance Patreon page first, so if you're in a hurry, you can always pop over there (and subscribe if you want, not necessary but certainly welcome). But it will all appear here on Dreamwidth too. Just sometimes with a delay. I've been quite overwhelmed lately and I'm not afraid to admit it. More overwhelmed than when I previously said I was overwhelmed. And will get increasingly overwhelmed in the foreseeable future. Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Thoughts
Date: 2026-02-26 09:14 pm (UTC)In particular, you raised a serious problem with the mental care industry: it doesn't actually work for clients, it works for institutions -- schools, big businesses, governments, etc. That drives away a LOT of potential customers because they realize that situation is dangerous for them.
The people-watching is amusing though.

Yep. I shopped at FriendZone. :D

My sympathies.

No worries. Do what you can to take care of yourself.
Re: Thoughts
Date: 2026-02-27 03:16 pm (UTC)I suppose that Owen and Seth/Sammy are friends for a while, attracted to each other because they're each other's 'type' - the first time they appear, they're actually talking about meeting girls. Clearly they've dropped the pretenses by now! It probably didn't take them very long actually. I don't have a story arc planned for them, so I'll have to learn how their relationship unfolds as it unfolds.
I think it's interesting how m/m couples deal with relationship issues in real life. Sadly, often they're bad at it and blow things up. I've never envisioned these two breaking up for good, so I might end up holding their hands through the hard parts. We'll see! I'm not always that nice!
Will that include counseling? I don't know - maybe Cathy will counsel them. :D
