Ren and Maurice, friends since childhood since they grew up together in a very small community where there were no strangers! There were plenty of cows, but no strangers.

And Heather, Jon's new-again girlfriend. Jon and Heather were dating a few years ago, and had a bitter breakup before Jon's motorcycle accident. At the end of the book, they run into each other again, and she gives him a second chance. Now they're a couple again! And Heather hangs out with the main characters. Maybe she'll take Christine's place as the 6th alien until Christine returns.
