Paintings of Typhoon - the fundraiser begins

What am I fundraising? Myself. Repatriating to the US from China was very expensive, and we were forced to buy a house in the process, and then the cost of living went way up. My mother needs very high levels of care and companionship, so I can't get a job outside the house, and my work-from-home attempt crashed and burned and basically put us back financially instead of helping.

I'm quite open and honest about personal finances by nature - I'm not a big believer in putting on airs of stability and acting like it's a taboo topic. I think that attitude does our society a lot of damage.

So that's the 'why'!

Now what is Typhoondraiser?

Typhoon is my mildly but relentlessly unhinged cat.

Here she is, butt-activating all my F-keys. She very reliably finds airplane mode, pops up multiple windows, and disables my touchpad.

I'm spending 24 hours making paintings of her in various poses with my Chinese ink and brush. I did five paintings today. I meant to touch them up and complete them before everyone came home, but now everyone is home. I also got some bushwacking done, which delayed the painting schedule a little bit but helped clear my head and got me outside for a bit. Now I'm experiencing that mood crash that comes with an energy crash. I know that not everyone experiences this, and in fact getting an adrenaline high after exercise is more common, but I'm an adrenaline lows person rather than an adrenaline highs person. I'm in it now. Pretty deep. It's okay. I'll serve dinner and then try to regroup and get that detail work done on my paintings.

I also need to update Alien Romance. I'm pretty far behind so it'll be a big dump of daily comics in one post, when I can get around to it.

I'm doing a Typhoondraiser art marathon!

I'm officially announcing my art marathon, Typhoondraiser. I'll be painting as many pictures of my cat, Typhoon, with Chinese ink and brush as I can fit into a 24-hour period.

Unfortunately, because I have chronic fatigue and caregiving responsibilities that take up much of my energy, they won't be 24 hours in a row. I'll do sessions every Monday and Tuesday for the next four weeks, starting on March 30.

I'll make video (maybe live!) of me painting, and the paintings will be available for purchase as I finish them. $10 each, plus shipping.
