I love gardening. This should be very interesting. Are you replacing them in order to keep nutrients in the soil, etc. or do you just want different things in your garden?

My property was badly neglected by the previous owner, so some of these plants were never wanted. My neighbors are hoping I'll get rid of the invasive ones like bittersweet and ajuga (even though both of them are pretty!) because they've worked hard to eradicate them in their own yards, and those plants will return in perpetuity if I let them thrive in my yard.

And then some are just personal preference. Forsythia doesn't do anything bad to the environment, but it isn't native, and I'll get more butterflies if I replace it with spicebush.

I mentioned strawberry because I already have some, and I'll do what I can to help them thrive so I can enjoy strawberries!
