Thank you! I thought I'd fixed that, but Patreon makes it hard to replace images, so I tried a few times and thought I finally got it. Now it's right.

That is so awesome. :D You made such a wonderful, unique backstory that really fits the character. <3 Maurice. I love the relationship with Ren too.

One thing that really caught my attention was him pushing a bigger kid down the stairs. I had moments like that, different in the details, but enough to remind people that I was nobody's easy meat.

The bit about not annoying a butcher is true though. Never try to pick on someone who knows exactly how to take you apart and is not the least bit squeamish.

*chuckle* This one time at a Pagan event, they'd bought a whole lamb carcass but couldn't get the spit roaster to work. And that lamb wouldn't fit into the house oven whole. Well, I know how to cut up dead things, but it was a bit big for me to handle by myself. So I looked at the crowd of distressed Pagans and asked if anyone had any experience -- cutting up chickens, cleaning fish, whatever. I wound up with a hunter and a home ec teacher, and together we reduced the lamb to pieces that would fit into a big pan.

At one point, someone started to walk through the kitchen to the one flush toilet, saw us butchering the lamb, and hastily decided to pee outside. The lamb turned out fine. But I was still a bit mystified that nobody else stepped up. I mean, it's not that hard to figure out where the joints are and hack them apart.
